After the death of 33-year-old racer Dan Wheldon in the horrific 15-car accident that occurred at the Indy 300 in Las Vegas, his fellow drivers honoured the 16-time IndyCar race winner with a 5 lap tribute. Many drivers commented that this was the worst crash they had ever seen and not long before the incident occurred were they expressing their concerns about the high speeds reached on the circuit during practise.
Among others, fellow drivers Dario Franchitti, a two-time Indy 500 winner, and Tony Kanaan react to Wheldon’s death while holding back tears.
