Wayne Rooney and Andy Carroll on vacation together

Published on Jun 10th, 2011, No Comments

Talk about unlikely holiday buddies. Wayne Rooney, Andy Carroll and Gary McAllister were snapped as they were lounging it out in the sun on their summer holiday in Barbados.

The Manchester United striker, Liverpool striker and Aston Villa assistant manager were no doubt talking ‘tactics’ at the exclusive Sandy Lane Resort in the Caribbean Sea. Rooney and McAllister have something else in common though, both gentlemen’s hair looks to be thinning on the top which is why McAllister consulted with Rooney about his recent hair transplant operation.

Carroll fancies himsself a bit of a rodeo star and McAllister turned up in cowboy boots at a recent job interview with Brian Clough, so that could be what THEY have in common. What do Rooney and Carroll have in common? Anyone’s guess…

United are the champions

Published on May 14th, 2011, No Comments

Manchester United have won their record 19th English Premier League title on Saturday courtesy of a Wayne Rooney penalty 17 minutes from time.

Requiring only a point to lift their 12th championship of Sir Alex Ferguson’s incredible reign, United had fallen behind in the first half when Brett Emerton’s far-post drive gave Blackburn a shock lead.

With Tomasz Kuszczak’s nerves affecting his team-mates, for a while, United looked to be heading for a nerve-jangling final-day ending with Blackpool.

But help was at hand in the form of Rovers keeper Paul Robinson, who needlessly slid out on Javier Hernandez.

Rooney magic extends United’s lead at the top

Published on Feb 13th, 2011, No Comments

The Manchester derby at Old Trafford ended with some long forgotten Wayne Rooney magic yesterday as he scored the winner to seal the 2 – 1 win for United over Manchester City.

United had seen Nani’s first-half opener cancelled out after the break when David Silva deflected in an Edin Dzeko shot, but Rooney’s spectacular late strike ensured Sir Alex Ferguson’s side hold the bragging rights over their bitter rivals.

Rooney’s sixth goal of the season lifted league leaders United seven points clear of second placed Arsenal, who host Wolves later on Saturday, and eight ahead of third placed City.

Silva had a golden chance to put City ahead in the fourth minute after a one-two with Carlos Tevez, but the Spain winger poked wide from close-range.

Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s £30,000 getaway – pics

Published on Nov 3rd, 2010, No Comments

Coleen and Wayne Rooney spent a week getaway in Dubai costing £30,000.00 this week. Most ladies would own a single bikini to go to the beach with (maybe two), but when your husband just received a pay-rise of £250,000 a week and you are a multi-millionairess is your own right, a bikini per day is more like it! The mother-of-one has lounged by the pool at the seven-star Burj Al Arab hotel in a succession of trendy two pieces, with many costing into three figures.

The pair about to splash even more cash on their return to Manchester tonight too – they’re throwing another £90,000 at Wayne’s 25th birthday party in a marquee at their Cheshire home.

It appears that they have reconciled after the lurid allegations about the striker sleeping with prostitutes when Coleen was pregnant with their one-year-old son Kai.

Rooney’s staying but injured

Published on Oct 23rd, 2010, No Comments

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney might have signed a new 5-year deal with the club, but won’t be facing Stoke City on Sunday.

Rooney, who has agreed a new five-year deal after days of intense media speculation, missed the Champions League win over Bursaspor after suffering an ankle injury in training and is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.

Rio Ferdinand will return to the centre of defence at the Britannia Stadium after being rested on Wednesday, while Jonny Evans is back in training following a thigh injury. Ryan Giggs (hamstring) and Owen Hargreaves (calf) need another couple of weeks, leaving Antonio Valencia as the Reds’ only long-term absentee.

“We have almost a full complement of players for Sunday,” Sir Alex told MUTV on Friday. “Rio will play but Wayne is not fit: it’s ironic he picked up an ankle injury in training on Tuesday. I think we’re looking at three weeks for him.

Shocking revelation as Rooney signs 5-year deal with United

Published on Oct 22nd, 2010, 1 Comment

Just as Wayne Rooney appeared to be on his way out of Manchester United, the striker signed a 5-year deal on Friday with the Red Devils.

Rooney had rocked United on Wednesday by revealing that he wanted to leave the Premier League club because they no longer had enough ambition to compete for major honours.

However United reopened talks with Rooney’s agent and announced on Friday that the player had made an astonishing u-turn and opted to commit his long-term future to the club.

A statement on the club’s website said: “Wayne Rooney has agreed a new five-year contract to stay at Manchester United until at least June 2015.

“The agreement follows intensive discussions between the Club and the player’s representatives and means that by the end of his contract Wayne will have been a Manchester United player for 11 years.”

Angry fans besiege Wayne Rooney’s home

Published on Oct 22nd, 2010, No Comments

Police had to be called in to disperse angry fans at Wayne Rooney’s house, caused by his decision to quit Manchester United.

Officers were called out late on Thursday after a mob of up to 30 supporters descended on the star’s 4.5-million-pound mansion in Prestbury, close to Manchester.

It came shortly after a crisis meeting at the club failed to resolve the future of Rooney, whose decision to walk away from Manchester United after six years has sent shockwaves through the world of English football.

Fans have been incensed by the news, and reports that the striker could be snapped up by local arch rivals Manchester City have only added to their sense of betrayal.

The balaclava-clad fans arrived at Rooney’s house – which he shares with his wife Coleen and son Kai – in a convoy of cars and repeatedly buzzed on his intercom, reported Britain’s Sun newspaper.
